DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL OPERATIONS NAMES AND SURNAME: ARTHUR JOSEPH PETER FRASER DATE OF BIRTH: 24 February 1965 PERSONAL INFORMATION : MARRIED WITH 3 CHILDREN STUDIES: BA(Hons) Degree obtained at the University of London in 1995. He has also completed numerous intelligence and management courses.
CAREER/ WORK EXPERIENCE: Mr Arthur Fraser is a seasoned intelligence officer with the following experience: a. He has 23 years of intelligence experience, within the non statutory organisation prior to our country’s democracy, and amalgamated with the NIA in 1995. b. He has vast competencies and experience in intelligence, namely, research and analysis, investigation – including in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC). c. He was the Provincial Head of one the country’s largest provinces, the Western Cape, for a period of seven years (1998-2004). d. He has been a senior manager for eleven (11) years. e. In 2002 he was awarded with an honourary Gold Award for his contributions to the intelligence community. f. In 2004 he was appointed as the Deputy Director General National Immigration Branch (DDG:NIB) in the Department of Home Affairs. g. On 15 December 2005, he was appointed as DDG: Operation in NIA to date.
