EDUCATION AND TRAINING 

Passed Std 10 – Meadowlands High School, 1975

BA Politics & Public Admin – University of Zambia, 1976-1980

Masters of Public Admin – University of Liverpool, 1991-1992 

Whilst serving as ANC cadre in exile, he received political, military and Intelligence Training. 

During 1992, 1993 and 1994 he was sent by the ANC to the Public Service Colleges in London, Malaysia and Namibia to be trained in Public Service and Administration.  He also received practical work experience in this regard. 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE 

Worked for the African National Congress at its Head Office in Lusaka, Zambia for many years. Between 1989-1991 he was assigned as representative of the ANC in Tanzania.  He represented the ANC and South Africa in many International Forums. 

In 1993 he was assigned to the Office of President Nelson Mandela, at the ANC Head Quarters where he worked as a Senior member responsible for the co-ordination of Security related issues, policy and also provided secretarial back-up for the President business nationally and internationally. 

He was part of the team that negotiated the new Public Service dispensation as part of the ANC contingent under Dr.  Zola Skweyiya.   

He was also part of the team that negotiated the new Intelligence dispensation under the then former Minister for Intelligence Services Mr. Joe Nhlanhla. 

In 1995 he was appointed General Manager responsible for Corporate Services within the National Intelligence Agency serving in the Top Management of the NIA and several Ministerial sub-committees.  

In 2000 he was posted to the South African Embassy in Washington DC, USA, where he worked as a senior diplomat. 

In 2002, he was appointed as a Deputy Director General in the Technical Collection Division of Intelligence.   

He has been part of the Senior Management of Intelligence since 1995, has participated and represented South Africa and its government in national and international forums.
