The
5th
NIA Annual
Golf
Day
The
NIA Annual Golf Day took place on the 3 November 2006. This was the
5th
Anniversary
of this prestigious event where the NIA Director General hosts an array
of
private business leaders,
senior management of client departments and
the media in the effort to develop strategic partnerships.
The
NIA Golf Day has proven to be an excellent outside the boardroom
opportunity for extended tactical
engagement
with
key stakeholders that influence South African opinion within the
business and political fields.
Over
the years, by
focusing on the various
NIA
business areas, the
event has successfully furthered the
strategic
objective of re-imaging NIA and building a positive image among this
target audience.
The theme of this special 5th NIA Annual Golf
Day
was “Reaffirming
the pledge to safeguard the Constitutional Order”. It sought to
emphasise the importance of the Intelligence institution versus
individuals, relaying that the NIA as an institution is successfully
forging ahead on its mandate and focuses on its successes.
The
theme also built on the previous
year’s, which
centered on the preparedness of
Intelligence for the 2010 World Cup.
True to the theme, to
strive towards a triumphant 2010 gala reflects
NIA’s commitment to
ensure
the protection of the South African sovereignty, our
Constitution, as well as our people. Hence, the growing need for all of
us to pull together as a nation.
The
programme spread over the whole day, with a stimulating 18-hole Golf
Challenge and networking by day and a refreshing dinner in the evening.
The dinner incorporated an award giving ceremony and entertainment.
