OFFICIAL CEREMONY: NAMING OF MUSANDA
During the second half of 2003, the Ministry announced a competition where members were requested to suggest a new name for the Complex that was previously referred to as the Rietvlei Complex. During Intelligence Services Day on 29 November 2003, Minister announced the new name for the Head Quarters: Musanda. Musanda is the Venda term for the “Chief’s Kraal” and is associated with many good attributes such as leadership, protection, unity, justice, happiness, etc. The Minister for Intelligence Services, LN Sisulu, hosted a ceremony to officially name Musanda on 26 March 2004. A wall has been built just outside the main entrance to Musanda where the name and official plaque were unveiled.
